Facharzt für Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie
Dr. Wolfram Weschenfelder ist Facharzt für Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie mit langjähriger klinischer Erfahrung in der Tumororthopädie und speziellen Unfallchirurgie. Er leitet das zertifizierte interdisziplinäre Sarkomzentrum am Universitätsklinikum Jena, wo Patientinnen und Patienten mit komplexen muskuloskelettalen Tumoren interdisziplinär behandelt werden.
Nach seinem Medizinstudium und der Facharztausbildung in Jena sammelte Dr. Weschenfelder internationale Erfahrung im Rahmen eines zwölfmonatigen Fellowships in Orthopaedic Oncology in Adelaide (Australien). Darüber hinaus war er mehrere Jahre als Lehrbeauftragter an der Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule in Jena tätig und engagiert sich weiterhin in der akademischen Ausbildung an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität.
Sein wissenschaftlicher Schwerpunkt liegt auf der chirurgischen Behandlung von Knochentumoren, rekonstruktiven Verfahren nach Tumorresektion und der Versorgung komplexer Frakturen. Dr. Weschenfelder ist Autor zahlreicher nationaler und internationaler Publikationen und regelmäßig in Forschung und Lehre aktiv.
Ihm ist es ein Anliegen, moderne operative Verfahren und wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse in die bestmögliche individuelle Behandlung seiner Patientinnen und Patienten einfließen zu lassen.

Die App beruht auf dem im Universitätsklinikum Jena entwickelten und extern validierten klinisch-radiologischen Score, der eine strukturierte präoperative Risikoeinschätzung ermöglicht und die Entscheidung über weiterführende Diagnostik unterstützen kann.
